Native ministry takes root—On the Coeur d’Alene Indian reservation in the panhandle of Northern Idaho, one group of indigenous believers called “Living Water Ministries” (LWM) hold regular weekly Bible studies, monthly worship meetings, and weekly leadership meetings. They also have outreach ministries to procure firewood for the elderly, minister to mothers of preschoolers, and offer help to recovering addicts.

Last year, the LWM group learned of Hayden Lake Evangelical Friends Church’s (HLEFC)

work in drug and alcohol recovery. When the two groups met, HLEFC staff heard the story of how LWM believers came to Christ.

Due to matriarch Dianne Allen’s insatiable desire for truth, her family studied the Bible and then decided to follow Christ together. After two years, they looked for other believers on the reservation. Five years later, they have become a viable church, actively reaching out to their community.
