Ryan Christian (right) “passes the baton” of Quaker Ridge leadership to newly appointed Executive Director Larry Money.

Denver Friends host conference for dads—First Denver Friends Church (FDFC) sponsored a Dad the Family Shepherd Conference for two days in March, with an open invitation to all RMYM churches. For more than twenty years, Dad the Family Shepherd Conferences have inspired and trained dads to live out their responsibilities within their families. The challenge is to love, lead, bond, and equip families as servants of Christ. A small group of men from FDFC met this challenge last year and continue to meet it as a small group for support and accountability.

Quaker Ridge welcomes new director—Ryan Christian recently resigned his position as Executive Director of Quaker Ridge Camp (QRC). He has been with RMYM for over eight years. Yearly Meeting leaders were reluctant to see him go. Ryan was instrumental in both building and rebuilding the camp facilities and operations. His wife, Julie, served faithfully as bookkeeper during that time. To offer thanks for their service and to wish Ryan and Julie well in their new endeavors, a reception was held in their honor at RMYM’s mid-year sessions, March 16, in Denver .

The Quaker Ridge Board announced that Larry Money will replace Ryan as Executive Director. Larry and his wife, Melody, have been an integral part of the staff at QRC for many years. The Board is excited that he is willing to move to the more challenging position of Executive Director.
