Churches celebrate anniversaries
Friends at Phoenix Friends Church (AZ) celebrated forty years of ministry on October 31, 2004. Founding pastor, Lloyd McDonald, read words of greeting at the worship service. Guests included most of the former pastors and the Friends Spanish-speaking congregation.
On November 7, 2004, Friends Community Church (Brea, CA) celebrated its second anniversary. In addition to food, fun, and fellowship, the day was filled with stories of people being freed from addictions, coming to know Jesus, and developing lasting friendships.
Investment fund changes
The Board of Directors decided that affiliation with America’s Christian Credit Union (ACCU) will best further the purposes of the Friends Investment Fund (FIF). To date, investments in FIF have facilitated loans to churches for construction, maintenance, improvements, and property purchases. With the transition to ACCU, the logo will change, but all existing arrangements and goals of FIF will remain the same.
