New camp program encourages outreach to friends of Friends youth
Each summer at Quaker Ridge Camp, hundreds of kids find the Lord. The camp is a major outreach for Rocky Mountain Yearly Meeting (RMYM) because of the number of youth and adults that are brought to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Many churches and parachurch organizations bring large groups to Quaker Ridge every year.

Despite this, the RMYM Friends Youth Camps have remained small. Friends in RMYM feel that they have not yet made camp as effective an outreach tool as it could be.

In 2005, the Quaker Ridge Board shared a vision that 250 kids participate in the camping program FX (Friends eXperience). To that end, youth pastors and sponsors are training churched youth to share their faith. Young people are encouraged to invite a friend to youth group and camp at half of the regular camp price.

RMYM will offer three camps - Junior, Junior High, and High School. Volunteers are signing up to be counselors and prayer warriors for this year’s camping program.
