Churches enjoy new facilities

Canyon Hills Friends Church dedicated their new building in April.
Two churches from Evangelical Friends Church Southwest Yearly Meeting have moved into new facilities. Iglesia Evangelica Amigos (IEA) in Las Vegas, Nevada, had purchased some property to build on years ago. But when a Nazarene church in the area outgrew their facility and made it available for sale, Pastor Ignacio Contreras and the people of IEA prayerfully considered their options, sold their property, and purchased the existing church. This year marks IEA's eleventh anniversary. Proceeds from this year's C.W. Perry Memorial Golf Tournament provided some funds for the purchase.

On April 10, Canyon Hills Friends Church dedicated their new building a few miles west of their leased facility. The new site offers a blend of elegance and simplicity, true to the Friends tradition. Within six weeks, Sunday attendance increased fifty percent. Nearly half of the new visitors were not active in another church. This non-transfer growth is the most exciting part of the move for Pastor Larry Mendenhall.
