"Sisters in the Harvest" travel to Hong Kong

Sisters in the Harvest" traveled from Ohio to Hong Kong to spiritually connect with female Filipino workers.
Ten women from different churches spent eleven days in Hong Kong for the second "Sisters in the Harvest" missions trip, coordinated by Joyce Sams of Alliance Friends Church.

The Ohio group had two primary goals for the trip. They prayed purposefully as they walked around prominent religious sites in Hong Kong and supported two churches that minister to Filipino domestic workers in Hong Kong.

The trip was planned around the Chinese New Year because most domestic helpers are off for that holiday. Filipino workers wandered the streets when off work and the "sisters" were there, initiating conversations and inviting the women to special activities at the churches. They reached approximately fifty women and introduced them to the church family.

Pastors network for coaching
EFC-ER has initiated a "Coaching Network" based on materials and support from New Church Specialities and Founder Dr. Larry McKain. Over fourteen teams and a third of EFC-ER pastors have participated in the past two years.

The Network is a blend of strategy and spirituality. The entire coaching group meets annually to share, evaluate the program, and meet other participants. Individual teams of two meet at least once a month. The goal of the program is for every new pastor to participate with a seasoned pastor to build character and gain greater ministry tools.
