EFM Director Chuck Mylander visited with the Saltshakers 06 Mexico hosts, Daniel and Carmen Velazquez, pastors of Iglesia Amigos in Wichita, on a recent trip to Sinaloa, Mexico, Daniel's home area.



Saltshakers visit Mexico and Africa-Davidand Mae Kellum and Brad Carpenter hosted a short-term Saltshaker 06 Burundi team of students in Burundi, Africa. The team was directed by Youth Superintendent Matt Macy, Rose Hill (KS) Pastor Chris Stanfield, and David Williams (Barclay College). The team led a youth seminar in Congo then traveled for several weeks throughout Burundi leading seven more youth seminars, church services, and a youth camp, bringing encouragement to Burundi Friends.

Pastor Daniel Velazquez and his wife, Carmen, of Iglesia Amigos (KS), hosted a short-term Saltshaker 06 Mexico team of eighteen this summer in Sinaloa, Mexico. The team was directed by Youth Pastors Adam Monaghan (Chandler Friends, OK) and Jesse Penna (Northridge Friends, Wichita, KS).

For three weeks, the Saltshakers partnered with locals working in the intense heat doing VBS, youth and church ministry, construction work, and church planting and mission strategy. General Superintendent David Robinson, Pastor Rick Hayes (Rose Hill Friends, KS), and EFM Director Chuck Mylander joined the team for the last weekend. EFM is now partnering with EFC-MAYM to begin a church planting movement in Sinaloa.
